Hi Guys after some pointers if possible. I have an error code p2142-77 EGR Recirculation Throttle Control circuit High. I have done some googling but fail to find much about this code, for this vehicle. So my RR is a 2013 SDV8 4.4.

Symptoms are when cold and I start her up fine but just left idling and she goes into Restricted Performance.

Once this has happened I can no longer clear the fault codes. Unless engine is off and ignition on only.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Part numbers, if part needs replacing. many thanks Paul

Hi All just an update. This was a red herring as it turns out to be the throttle control module (The flap that controls air into intake manifold) plastic gears in the box are destroyed.

Interesting, how much was the throttle body and can I ask how many miles yours has done..? Pete

Have you been trying to clean it and manually pushed it open and closed ?
It’s a very rare failure, I didn’t log any in my 4.4 tdV8 fault log and some of them had done well over 200k miles ?.

@haylands: The Throttle Body is around £200 off E-bay at the minute. Claim to be Genuine. Waiting for part to arrive before totally solved. The car is now on 118K Miles

@Baltic Blue never touched it before. Maybe I should have and its because it was clogged that the problem happened. Saw that another member on here had the same code and he posted pic of the same issue, which was how I knew to look there.
