Viscous fan removal

Evening folks,

As part of this year's service I want to change the serpentine belt on my 3.6 as the existing belt has done 114,000 odd miles and while I'm at it I'll also change the coolant pump.

Could any of you knowledgeable folks guide me as to how to get the fan off the car for it is one seriously tight bu&&er of a thing??? Current collection :

Order your self the holding spanner mate. Costs about £20 but really makes life so much easier. It goes round the bolt heads then get your 36mm spanner and crank it off. Remember they are usually a left hand thread tho mate

Appreciate its an extra cost but really does make life so much easier then using the traditional method of stick a spanner on and whacking it with a club hammer to shock it off. Used this method one n after I missed the spanner and hit my hand I thought sod it, I'll get the holding tool

The easy way to remember which way to turn it is - undo in the same direction that it normally rotates.

Works for serpentine and V-belt fans.

I made a viscous coupling holding tool from a design on FullFatRR. I'll try to find the thread.

Found it - it was from a site which doesn't appear to be around any more: http://greenoval.homeunix.org/rr/Rad_Rep/Spanner.jpg

Someone might know if it has been renamed.

Here's a scan of the file:
