Clay Defender on TV show

Hi everyone,

Yea, I know this isn’t about a FF RR but you may still find it interesting!

In series 6, episode 12 of the TV show, “Inside The Factory,” they show how clay is used to design cars. The subject of this episode is clay mugs but they have a segment showing how Land Rover designed the new Defender at the factory.

For those in England, you can see if it’s on the BBC iPlayer. It’s about 21 minutes into the program and is about 6 minutes long.

Here in the US, it was shown on the Smithsonian Channel but with commercials. For us the show is about 44 minutes long once you fast-forward through the commercials.

Have fun!

I logged into BBC via my VPN set to London but can only get Series 7 and Series 5, not 6.

I tried the US link (via VPN) but Mugs is episode 8 (there is no episode 12). I can't access it because the Smithsonian Channel thinks I'm running an AdBlocker. Ron B. VK2OTC

Yea, it seems that the iPlayer does not have all episodes of shows available all of the time. If you have access to it you'll have to keep checking back to see if they air that episode and I think it then becomes available.

I also have see discrepancies in series (seasons here in the US) and episode numbers between the UK and the US and also from platform to platform even! Wheeler Dealers is a good example where there's no consistency between the UK and the US.

UGH!

Good luck!

Hi Ron,

It looks like the Smithsonian Channel here in the US may allow you to view it.

With your VPN set to the US and if you select the 24-Hour Pass maybe you can access it?

Good luck!
