England 2013 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Luxor

Remove the six air box screws and remove the top. Undo the banjo air hose clip and push back the hose. Don’t disconnect any wires, just put it out of your way.You can now remove the bottom part.
First pull up the engine end, there’s a push in/out lug on the bottom. Then pull it away away from the wing and take it out. Two pull out/in lugs here. . Then the back bulb cover is exposed. For some reason, I also removed the solid air pipe to the turbo inlet (cover the hole) but offside only. It will all become obvious once you start. HTH. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

I was worried that the brighter bulbs may cause an issue - I guess I'll find out soon enough.....

They shouldn't do - it's just more light in the same place. I've done a fair bit of night driving since fitting to mine and there's been no issues with disgruntled oncoming traffic.

Sorry, I forgot to say….. Before actually removing r the old bulbs, there is a lever beside the base of the bulb, which must be slid downwards to unlock the bulb. After fitting the new one, the lever must go up again. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

All fitted - as others have said, it was a little bit fiddly, but not overly difficult.

I just need to wait for it to go dark now Laughing

I'll file this one under jobs I should have done a long time ago..... preferably when I used to do a lot of driving in the dark Confused

I was not particularly unhappy with the headlights, but these are noticeably brighter and whiter. I passed 10 or so cars on my way home and none of them flashed at me, so I assume from that small sample that they are OK.

Thanks all Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Corris Grey

I’m keeping a watchful eye on this thread as I’d like to upgrade my 2016 L405 lights. I find them…..not good! What’s the best solution currently in offer for a L405?
Isn’t there something in the new MOT rules that outlaws leds? Or is that for something else? L405 2016 4.4SDV8 Autobiography Corris Grey/Pimento - Current
L322 2011 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE Alaska White/Charcoal - Gone
and lots of other none LR stuff…..

I just fitted these:

AliExpress:£29.25 58% Off | D1S D3S LED innovative 3 copper tube canbus 140W 6500K white D2S D4S D3S D1R D2R D3R D4R12V LED TO HID LED headlight
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQrLH3p

Yes, that price is for TWO leds, they aren’t exactly exquistely put together, but seem to work OK so far, way brighter than my already upgraded Osrams, (think 4x-6x) and who can argue at that price? Fans are silent, heatsinks are slightly tricky to align with all the little spring-clips. Very white light, good spread, very flat beam cut-off. 2-3 weeks to the UK. Worth a punt.
140W = 2 bulbs, 70W each. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I'd like a warm/daylight LED colour output temperature, not a "cold" one.

Any idea what that would be? 2012 Supercharged L322

Google "colour temperature chart"

Look for “images”. Thumbs Up

I’d say 4000K-5000K is “warm”, and 5000K-6000K is “white”. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
