I am (somewhat) determined to make sure the ECU does not switch on every time i open one of the doors. Especially for upcoming overland trips where you live out of the car and open the doors so many times a day I am just very worried that the battery will go flat and I am stuck in the middle of the Namib.

Surely the ECU will be triggered by the door sensor, I reckon if I can trick the car into thinking the doors are always closed then my problem is solved. This car does not have a sensor with a pin that I could tape down, in fact I cant find it anywhere or any information from my quick searches.

How does the door sensors work on these?
Where are the door sensors located?
Could I isolate them temporarily?
Should I try a different method?
Am I unnecessarily worried about this?

from memory when you unlock the doors, the lights come on so they must be linked to the 'unlocking'

you can disable the interior lights if you are constantly opening and closing the doors.

i dont think theres a way to stop the FF from waking up on the door opening.. ... - .- -.

Lights can be disabled/enabled by press+hold the light switch ...it gives a flash and then they dont come on for unlock / door open.

you could put an inline switch from the battery so you can disable all the electrical systems.. ... - .- -.

The door latch itself contains what tells the car the door is open I believe.

But if you disable it, your alarm won’t sound if a door is opened… the interior light won’t come on, suspension might keep moving when you get out.

That said, non of the above is worse than a flat battery.

Folk have fitted a second battery in the boot to help, but you prob already know that
