Does anybody have any experience of an ACE bar being able to slide about 10mm laterally ? You can see the gap and grab it and move it side to side. Is it just bushes or has it somehow lengthened itself? Anybody have any exp on these cheapest replacement is £890 all in so would like to repair if poss..

If you look on the second pic you can see the shiny bit thats how much lateral play we can slide side to side

Is it just the bushes that will stop the knock? Are these supposed to have this much side to side movement ?

There shouldn't be any end play no, the bushes are designed to clamp onto the shaft and work through torsion so it looks like the bushes are done. Not expensive parts but be careful if you are doing the work yourself with the retaining bolts that go into the aluminium chassis as they can seize and snap like mine did
