2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Montalcino Red

It seems for the 2018-2021 L405 with the big Bembo they updated the pins. But it seems that lots of sites don't show this. So my feeling was correct when I saw the differences in the pins

So I was checking online using an US part place

I then checked with the local LR garage. I am off to buy the parts now. SDV8 AB MY 2020

I wouldn’t panic about these too much, if they were a tap-in fit they should be OK.
Did you compare them with a Vernier before fitting? So long as the major diameter is the same, they should be fine, (the reduced diameter on the older style ones locates the leaf spring centrally), but the springs have “wings” on them now. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

So a quick 30 minutes and the pins are changed. I have done more test driving. It seems all good. 😊 Still at the gentle bed-in stage. I will have a few Km under my belt before I hit the autobahns.

Well done for having a go, especially at this time of year out on the driveway, still the warm glow of self-satisfaction will now make up for that! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I am happy to have done this. It is good for my mental health.

I will have some spares that I no longer need, so will look into selling them. Along with lots of advice about working on the brakes. SDV8 AB MY 2020
