Shouldn't be that long. Yours does sound very sluggish. Do you get the message on the dash display saying its raising slowly?

Just tried mine and from Off Road height, I cannot invoke the extended mode using the height selector. Tried High and Low range, Park and Neutral, footbrake on and off. Discovery 4 HSE

Seems almost as backward as the 2006/7 RR's losing the Highway mode at 60mph, now its a high speed mode that kicks in at over 100mph or something? I'm flaky on the details of the newer models (I dont want to do the research or I'll want one)

They did the same with the Sport, I couldn't understand why I'd have to drive up to 100mph for the increased stability, they MADE me break the law! Discovery 4 HSE

Considering that would be illegal for everyone in every country except the Germanians in Germania, makes you wonder what the hell they were thinking of.

I personally find the RR very stable up to it's max speed, which for the BMW engines is an extra 5mph over the jag engines Razz

I was told by a LR chappy that they altered the air spring rates and made them a little taughter in 06 - so it no longer needed to go down at 60mph

Speaking of which…. Have you seen the active roll mitigation on the New RR – I’d love that. I always thought the ACE (active cornering enhancement) was great on the Disco and always wondered why they never incorporated it into the Range Rover!

On the other hand then it would have handled better than an X5 and BMW would have never allowed that!

Anyway..

I've been activating the access mode every time I come to a stop now, and things seem to be improving. Leaving the gym today, it was back to normal height before I'd left the car park - fastest I've seen it. The annoying electronic chattering sound that was coming from the dash has also stopped as well. I suspect previous owners have never activated the suspension. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

This is what Off Road height looks like, doesn't look that high really?

I've found that if I hit the door button to drop to access height while moving and then drive up a shallow curb or even onto the drive before it fully lowers (ie. left hand LED flashing on height console), it sometimes decides I've grounded out and raises to extended (above Off road level).

Don't make the mistake like I did of getting out to have a look when this happens, it's a helluva climb back up into the cab! Very Happy Very Happy

Larry, that's exactly the same circumstances that made mine go into extended mode a couple of times. I might try and see if I can invoke it again so I can then select super extended mode, then of course, take plenty of pictures! Discovery 4 HSE

I'm of the opinion that mine is just down to lack of use. In the last week, I've been lowering and raising it at every opportunity and it's much faster now. Raises to normal height before I reach the end of the street now, which is approx half the time it used to take Very Happy 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

This is interesting, when I did the LR experience, the instructor did explained to me that it was basically when the vehicle senses grounding, it'll automatically raises another 35mm...

I've resurrected this thread, as i was looking for info on "Extended mode". Just wondering what it displayed on the dash when you went into extended mode ?
