Battery Change CR2032 in MY11 Remote Fob

I was getting fed up with the warning on the display, Battery Low on Remote !

So I changed it this morning for a fresh Duracell one, put the multimeter on it, 3.3v - great.

But went to use it and did not open the car, used my spare remote to get to work, now back home and trying to figure out how a battery cell change can make my remote inoperative, does it need to be synced to the L322 perhaps ? Looking for advice chaps Smile

Two questions come to mind:

1. Did you peel off the plastic label/coating on the battery?
2. Did you insert the battery the right way round? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I changed mine recently and can confirm that it doesn't need to be re-synced. However, holding it in the right position (lower right footwell) won't do any harm! It's not uncommon for the display to continue to tell you that the battery is low for a while though.

I suspect something hasn't seated correctly with the new battery. Take it out and go through the motions again is the best I can suggest. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Also polish the new battery with a clean tissue to remove any fingerprints!!!
Sounds unlikely that would work?
Believe me, it helps.

UPDATE

Have carefully cleaned and polished the batteries, took the battery compartment out of the good remote and carefully put it in the dead remote, nada, nothing, so its not the battery, I even gave it a quick air brush inside the battery compartment just in case, I also took a photo of it inside to see if there is any corrosion or anything, but both remotes look the same inside the battery compartment, and both were working fine before I changed the CR2032 battery.

Then I tried the procedure below, got the cap off the passenger door handle, its all in the video below for anyone that has my trouble or similar, go to 42 seconds point of the video

Then I followed the instructions below and finally have my spare key working again - PHEW Smile
