Lost connection with steering angle sensor module.

Hi guys,
I have an L322 2012 TDV8, it has had a slight grating feeling from the brake pedal recently, occasionally!
I replaced all discs and pads two years ago, so I thought it was strange when the brake pedal had some grating vibration.
Anyway jacked it up and visually checked everything, Discs, pads, etc, all ok.
So, I plugged in the diagnostic tool and I'm getting fault code U0126-00, Intermittent, Lost connection with steering angle sensor module.
No faults on the dash, absolutely nothing to suggest any faults at all, just the very slight grating occasionally from the brake pedal?
Any ideas???????

Hi, could you confirm whether grating noise is coming from the brakes themselves when you apply pressure on the brake pedal or whether the grating noise is coming from the pedal area itself.

If from the pedal area itself, it could be binding on the pivot assembly, or something dropped into the pedal area like a piece of trim, cable or something like that causing some form of obstruction to the movement, I doubt the master cylinder or the ABS assembly as that's not close enough for you to hear the action.

If it's from the brakes themselves, your talking about metal on metal contact, or it could be a stone trapped in there or buildup of rust on the disc edges. Unlikely to be the pads worn through given the age of them.

Steering angle sensor shouldn't have any effect on the braking sensation as far as I can tell, it's probably an issue that's been present for a while it's just you plugging in the diag tool that it's registered, unless it's a hanging down wire thats in some way tangled with the brake pedal assemby. Fuji White 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westmiinster

I am wondering if you have a worn bush or linkage somewhere on the suspension assembly. At certain angles under braking or load it will may feel like grating but in fact be wobbling as well as throwing your steering angle sensors.

Get under there with a pry bar and see if something is loose?
