Seems to be getting noisier (even more than usual) recently. Sounds like a tappety top end - do/can the lifters stick on these? It's very loud when you take the oil filler cap off - is this normal? Definitely worse when cold, virtually goes away when hot. It's done 95,000 with a FLRSH, last serviced 2k miles ago.

Does it have the right grade of oil in it? I had a TD5 with a similar problem. I changed the oil for a good quality 5W40 and the noise went away.

I'm assuming when the service was carried out at main dealer, the oil would be correct..
