United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Oslo Blue

Well.. after two weeks and 1 day, going from the garages' own mechanic, then on to a landy specialist (who was unable to find the fault) then on again to land rover them self.. and with confirmation from 3 other range rover specialists.. I am told I'm a fat bastard.

uh, I mean it's torque converter related!!

New parts coming Wednesday, hopefully will be fixed for picking up on Friday!

I think RRPhil was bang on! - I'll report back Friday evening Thumbs Up

Well I still haven't got mine back yet.

The specialist seems certain my trouble is the engine mounts.

Hopefully I will have an update tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath Sad

UPDATE

Active engine mounts replaced..........and.................the vibration is ....................still :censored:ing there!!!!

They are now looking at the injectors Big Cry

HI im a new member here but to add to the others i would say it was torque converter as i had excactly the same problem as you descibe to the word..t/c changed problem gone away .

If it's under LR warranty they will do everything they can to avoid changing the TC

Well I still don't have mine back.

They have sent all the injectors off for testing and refurb.

I am still telling the garage I think it's the torque convector.

List so far.........

Gearbox flush and filter change
Active engine mounts changed
Injectors

All 6 injectors refurbed and fitted......................

Still the same! Big Cry

It's going in for the Torque Convertor on Monday.

The dealer said that if this doesn't fix it, he will buy the car back off me!!

Germany 2004 Range Rover HSE Td6 Zambezi Silver

Hi,

Had the same vibrations, had the wheels balanced 4 times etc... made me nuts

At the end it was the front brake caliper (Left one)
We found out when it was totally seized (I don't know if it's the correct word), disk was red hot.

Vibration came at around 2000K but could vary.

A good cleaning and 30€ solved the problem.

Might not be the same issu but worth having a look.

Hi All
Not been on site for ages but here goes.

I had this problem in my last Rangey- It was the torque convertor seals. If I remember rightly, the autobox guy said the vibration was caused by an oscillating effect- pressure within the TC drops due to the worn seals, the valve detects this, opens and repressurises the TC, closes, and the cycle keeps being repeated many times a second and feels like vibration. The TC locks up above a certain speed hence it is less noticeable. Or something like that. A new TC cured it Mine had covered 155k by then, so not bad. RRphil- does this make sense to you?

No news to report here..

Last update I got was Tuesday morning..
They said they were still working on it.. they hoped to be giving it a test drive later in the day...
Haven't heard anything since.. in total it's been 4 weeks now.

On the plus side, I've saved £200 in diesel! Few more weeks and I can buy a working P38 with tax and MOT Laughing
