Refurbishing Leather Seats

I've just bought a 2010 L322 Autobiography and the driver's seat has a fair amount of cracking on the side support and I think some leather dye may be required. I've looked around and spoken to a few people and I've been recommended a product called Colourlock. But here's the problem - the original invoice for the car states the seats are ivory, but no mention of which of the 3 variations of ivory it is. Colourlock name 3 ivory colours - Oxford, Blenheim and Premium and I have no idea how to find out which one I have!

Any advice or pointers would be much appreciated.

I've used products from this place for years...

https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/colour-c...lour-chart

Always had perfect colour match...

A tip... use cross linker, the finish will remain for much longer...

They have lots of "how to" guides if it's your first time... Pete

Hi Pete,
Thanks for this. I know of a number of people who swear by furniture clinic and I was aware of this chart, but it doesn't seem to show the 3 variations of ivory that seem to have been available. I wanted to use the Colourlock product because a mate has used it before and had amazing results. I've tried contacting them and there is no reply so resorted to WhatsApp and had a less than satisfactory response - they simply said contact the dealer!
Cheers
Nick

I had Ivory on fatty off roader, their colour was a perfect match, I've never heard or seen three shades of it..... Pete

Hi, your seats are now 12+ years old, they're not the same colour as they left the factory they're likely bleached from the sunlight.

If you want an exact match you'll have to buy the standard ivory, a small bottle of white & dark brown and mix a sample yourself on a test piece for an exact match.

Otherwise it's pot luck, buy all 3 and hope for the best I'm afraid. Fuji White 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westmiinster

Okay - that sounds sensible. Thanks Andy. I guess as an amateur I just don't want to make a hash of it and have one seat a different colour from the rest Laughing The other option is to do all the seats...

You can try cleaning with a magic sponge 1st to see if it restores the colour, you get them off the bay or most supermarkets.

I've recently re-coloured all the seats in my 2006 RR, i purchased products from Scratch Doctor inBlackpool, re-coloured the front seats in place using the sponges supplied by them and removed the back seats and sprayed the dyes on with a small spray gun and compressor, both methods achieved a first class result, the complete kit was less than £40 and was more than enough to complete all the seats, armrests on the doors and centre cubby box

For cleaning prior to refurb I’d highly recommend either of these :

https://renapur.com/products/renapur-leather-cleaner-concentrate

For ongoing care post refurb I use this:

Are Oxford, Blenheim and Premium not the three qualities of leather used in the Range Rovers, rather than colour shades?

If the products you are looking at are slightly different depending on the type of leather finish and you want to be sure then if you get hold of a copy of the data sheet for your vehicle it will confirm which leather is used on your seats.

This is one I hadn't heard of but I like the fact they would like to see a sample before trying to match the colour. That makes perfect sense to me. Cheers Very Happy
