Never heard that excuse from a galvanisers,,, sounds like BS to me, the one here sorted a sandblast themselves, I could have got it cheaper doing it separately, but couldn't be bothered, they have a blasters they use a lot so that excuse does sound flimsy....

having had a customer that wanted every thing powder coated and using several different company's, we found it hopeless.

I’ve had my deployable steps PC’d and they are right behind the front wheels of course. After a year, no chips or corrosion they still look as new, same can’t be said for the original JLR paint. I have experience with industrial brakes, and yes the early PC used to chip & flake easily, but move on several years, and PC can now be comparable with Zn, but being thin steel, I think hot dip is better for corrosion resistance, although black PC looks better. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong! |

Mine just came back from LR after having it replaced. finally after a good few months, they managed to get the part. I think they were waiting for a stamping run from the supplier as there were non in the system.
