Key fob not working with new battery?!? HELP

Hi All,

I had the low battery warning on the dash of my 2015 RR 4.4 SDV8. So I changed the battery and the key fob doesn't work at all.

So I tried another two brand new batteries and they don't work either. I put the old battery back in and it works!

Anyone know how to get the fob working with a new battery. Never had this issue with any other car.

Help appreciated.

Are the new batteries the same brand as the old one that works OK? I seems that RRs can be a bit snobby about cheap brands!

When i did this i forgot to pull off the plastic protector on the rear of the new battery.

Yes im no engineer.

Hope its just that.

Big Dave,

I feel like a right ploker!

I didn't have my glasses on and yes indeed there was a tiny thin plastic membrane on the battery. I guess it was there as additional protection.

Anyway, all working now.
