Yes, but in the context of this thread we are not talking about just a black roof are we - look at the first pic.

In case you missed it - it was the top 1/2 of the car in one colour and the bottom 1/2 in a contrasting colour.

My previous L405 was black roof over Carpathian as specced from LR, and looked really well. The pillars are also black as std in any event, and always have been apart from the very 1st 1970’s Classics. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Many moons ago (back in the eightees), when we didn't have taste, I had a 2.8 capri that was in Forrest Green over Crystal (light Metallic Green)


I thought this was awesome, maybe not so now!

If you must do it, wrap it, then if it gets on your t*ts, you can pull it off, like a used prophylactic!

Same here, 3 litre Capri & Rover 2200TC. Traded in my Lotus Europa for the Capri. Within 100yards of leaving the dealership, I realised that I had made a big mistake.
Still haunts me . The only other one I regret is trading in my S class Mercedes for a new BMW 6 series Grand Coupe. Nice enough car, but hated it. Kept it for about 6 months then ordered another S class.
Like that Range Rover, only needs another two exhausts equally spaced along the back

Finally decided against it. Now the sun is out, well sort of the Carpathian looks totally different, it sparkles. During the winter it tended to look a bit drab, hence my thought of a change. Still like the two tone though

Looking at those two photos Haylands, the chrome on that car must have cost more than my two RR's put together

I too used to have a Capri - three shades of red, x-pack wings and spoilers, bored out to 3.1, stage three engine, lowered stiffened suspension, 2 1/2 inch free flow manifolds and pipes, ran it in the summers on massive competition tyres, ground clearance was about three inches. It was very, very difficult to drive in the wet, to say the least, basically a track car Was an absolute blast to drive, how I kept my licence clean was a miracle. As it was a police magnet, my favourite trick was to tootle along at 20 / 25mph in a 30 limit as the plod tailed me, slip it into 1st as I hit the sign for 60mph and floor it till at 55 / 60, to see how long before I saw the blue lights come on
