Long shot but having had a look in this area on the L322 I recently bought, I see a cable looking very sorry for itself dangling around the rear suspension area, with a 2 pin plug on the end of it not connected to anything.

It comes off the same section of loom that runs to the ride height sensor, also looking very sorry, that’s the 3 pin plug and is connected. I’ve had a good look around the area that the plug will reach to but can’t obviously see anything it could plug into. I guess it could be a plug for an option that wasn’t selected. Either that or it’s something tucked up out of the way that I can’t see.

There isn’t anything obviously unplugged in terms of things not working but being totally new to these cars I thought I’d check while I’m working in that area. It has crossed my mind it could have been causing a fault when plugged in so it was just disconnected! Have checked the wiring diagrams for a BR cable colour but nothing has come up that runs to a 2 pin plug or that I think would be in that location.

Is it the wiring for the TPMS system? I don't know if the 06 SC had the wiring pre installed, mine (09 facelift) has the same wires but they are tucked under the inner wheel covers and I assume that is for.
Someone more knowledgeable will come along and confirm (or not.)my conclusion.

Can't remember what the plug looks like but it could be pad wear indicator....

As Will says they tend to use the same, or similar looms across the range so you will probably find a few "spare" plugs all over the place....

If you have no faults showing then don't worry about it...

A fault that goes away when something is unpluged is rare on a fatty.....  Pete

Thanks for the replies both. I thought the black insulated cable that runs underneath the loose one was the pad wear indicator cable. I'm replacing the pads & discs soon so I'll have a proper look when I do that.

Don't know if it has TPMS yet! Fair enough though, I'll cable tie it somewhere out of the way then at least I know where it is if I find something that looks like it fits. '95 VW Corrado VR6
