Mick, whichever company you go with, check the cost of the ink cartridges. The machines are usually cheap, its the monthly charge and some ink cartridges which can be bloody awful. Pitney Bowes springs to mind, cheap machines but you have to use their ink cartridges, on some machines and you can't get cheap cartridges off the internet

Cheers Vogue Thumbs Up found that out today doing a bit of phoning around cartridges range from £88 to £214 allowing for maybe a 1500 print off run , it's just the 5 year deals that put me off as the type i need roughly comes in at £90 a month + vat …. Rolling Eyes

try royal mail smart stamp, and a label printer.

Used it for years. It is a bit more awkward.

Ran a massive post room once, had two of the larget franking machines money could buy. We looked at all the various models but kept coming back to Pitney Bowes.

At present work we have a small Pitney Bowes machine on lease, very reliable.

They are neve going to be cheap to run ! .

As already suggested, royal mail smart stamp is the way to go.

If you can print onto the envelope then even better as you save on labels etc.

Pitney Bowes DM100 Thumbs Up Their most reliable machine Exclamation We have had ours now for 6 years and continue to renew the lease on the same machine year after year at an ever reducing rate. Latest loyalty offer takes it to less than £60 per quarter + Vat including all repairs and replacement machine if it breaks Shocked I think we are about to renew for a further 3 years on that basis especially with a replacement it it can't be fixed Whistle Yes the inks are expensive but overall still very good value for money.

A "Pitney" insider told me that this is the only machine they trust to keep renewing the existing agreement.
