Whilst doing a service, I noticed a coolant leak on the small pipe leading to the thermostat housing. It seems that the plastic hose connection has split.

Do away with the plastic push on fitting, the rubber hose slides straight onto the thermostat housing, I popped a boost hose on mine and in the process it smashed that connector. Free fix. Current

I have a drop or two of coolant in the exact same place. The replacement parts make no sense to me. On the JLR Classic parts it is not shown as the parts being superseded in the same way as other parts. It makes no sense to me that the replacement part has an extra pipe, when there's nothing to connect it to! |

I think someone at JLR has been smoking something to come up with this supersession. I have access to the files and LR034629 supersedes to itself which is likely a mistake.

Rereading this thread, and looking again at the pictures, that plastic part with the coolant on is a part of the hose assembly, correct? Because it does look like it might be part of the thermostat housing, but in fact the hose/housing coupling looks… strange. |
