Arnott airbags?????

Just a quick one. Has anyone had experience of arnott replacement airbags? They look quite a good option depending on the delivery charges. Here's the link. http://www.arnottindustries.com/part_LAND_...id125.html
I was looking at the replacement airbags for the front struts. [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

1st - you should replace the struts as well - these house the shock absorbers. We all know shocks wear out over time. On a normal car one would replace shocks every 50K ish - because they are integral with the spring on the RR people never bother.

2nd - their "Bag only" replacement works out about the same price as just buying the whole genuine unit. I think they are currently around £250 per side? Sling P&P on the arnott solution and you're there.

The replacement airbags are good quality. But like Dan says, at close to the same price, get new units. Island 4x4 had the best prices last time I looked.

Similar discussion and a vid by Storey to help you replace the strut Cool

I've been screwed on customs charges on everything I've ordered from the states recently. You get a customs charge AND 20% VAT on top of that AND their handling fee!

It seems to have been tightened up in the last year or so. Big Cry

Pro-actively? Shocked

Boy you must be earning well! First you run out an buy an SC, then you buy lots of expensive fuel, and now this! I replace my shocks when they're worn... Razz

Seriously, the materials have gotten better there too. My P38 shocks have at least 200kkm on them - and they are still fine (and if you don't trust my judgment they just passed the French-MOT shock-shake test). I'm not saying that all shock will last 150k+mi, but 50k is not much.

Just bought a front offside strut for my daughters 03 from Autopost for £300.00. As I was in London I collected it from them so I guess there would be carriage on top of that.

Because the post office have "dealt with customs on your behalf" never mind the fact you didn't ask them to. And if you have a problem with customs or just a query they are the most unhelpful bunch ever!

HM Customs and Excise aren't known as the "Queen's thief's" for nothing! There the only ones who hold the queens warrant so can do as they please, unlike the police who need courts to grant warrants! [img]http://www.fuelly.com/driver/rob2529/range-rover[img/]

I recently bought a replacement front strut for my Merc E55 from arnotts. Cost £370+ 50 delivery (merc wanted almost £1000 Shocked ) and come with a lifetime guarantee. Arnott industries were spot on,however uk customs were not Censored ,held the part for over a week and charged me £80 for the priveledge Evil or Very Mad

Customs charges from the US make for interesting discussions, but in light of the thread topic, there is no way to beat the prices from Island 4x4 on an entire new strut (damper and airspring) vs Arnotts airspring only.
