Torque Converter Bolt Removal | |
Just wanted to share the setup I used for removing the torque converter bolts from my 2011 N/A 5.0 since I didn't see anything like this out there.
I went through the wheel well after removing the front suspension/cv shafts and steering rack.

I used a borescope snaked underneath the motor mount that let me see the bolts as I was turning the engine over from above.

Then it was just a 24" extension and a swivel before the 13mm socket to get the 4 bolts out. Easy peasy.
Also everything I read said you need to pull the front bumper/condenser/basically the whole front end to pull the engine out the top. I didn't want to crack open the a/c system so all I removed was the radiator, then I dropped the front end down to about 4" off the ground and that allowed me to lift the engine up over the bumper. Overall a pain in the butt with how much you have to remove, but can easily be done in an 8 hour day.
