Sunroof not fully closing at the trailing edge

Had a search, but can’t find anything on this. My sunroof sits approx 3mm low at the back edge when closed. It seals, but berates a bit of wind noise.

Is there a simple fix ? I’d imagine either a switch reset or adjusting the mechanism.

Thanks in advance !

With the ignition on, press the sunroof button and hold for about 30 seconds or until you hear a click then open it fully and close again and that should do the trick. Hope this helps, it worked for me.

Thanks BB - when you say press the button, do you mean push it towards the front of the car, as if closing the sunroof ?

Sorry Jonny, push the button upwards as if you are opening it for vent position.

There's instructions in the workshop manual on how to reposition the glass. I had to do this on mine to get it to sit right as resetting it didn't work. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Thanks all - it worked a treat ! I do love a simple fix and it’s great to have such a helpful resource in the forum.

One job fixed, plenty to go at including;
Full fluids and filters service
New rear hatch struts
Slightly noisy blower motor (could be a stray leaf, so will investigate when I do the pollen filter)
Sills and boot tidy up
Seats refurbished
CV boot
Swap over DAB to DAB+
And probably loads more….

Glad to be of help Jonny, that's what we are all here for. What's this with the swapping of the dab to dab+? Not heard of that before and what does it do extra?

Most elderly L322s have the standard DAB unit fitted. In fact I think they all have standard DAB. DAB+ is a better, improved version of DAB that was fitted to L405s L494s etc. It has more channels and generally is a very worthwhile upgrade. Only issue with it is the electrical systems generally weren't built to work with DAB+ however there is a workaround.

Firstly you need one of these cables to replace your existing power cable https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135528730041 The official LR cable is £30 part nr LR032814 and there's one left on eBay. They're usually like hen's teeth.

Then you need a DAB+ module part nr CPLA-14F720 it'll be followed by B and another letter. The higher the second letter the more up to date the firmware is. They tend to go for £120-£150 on eBay.

Fitting is pretty straightforward, the new DAB+ module uses the same fitting point, cables and mounting screws as the old one, so it's only really the power cable you need to replace your old one.

When operating the head unit, you can't switch from standard radio, CD etc to DAB+. You need to press DAB the switch off the head unit and then back on again. Takes 2s. You'll then have DAB+. A simple workaround to have DAB+ and saves faffing around with old style DAB modules, antennas etc etc.

There's a few of us on the RRS forum who have done it and I have a DAB+ unit on the way to do my L322.

Cheers

Jonny

Once the module is in accessing DAB becomes second nature. If you switch the car off with DAB selected it’s still functional, so you don’t need to switch between the different modes. Most people listen to DAB over FM, so shouldn’t really be an inconvenience if that’s the case.

Nothing worse than intermittent DAB though and thus solves it.
