Simon, I'm glad to hear that you were diagnosed, and treated, quickly. All positive now, please.

I was diagnosed eleven years ago. I had a radical prostatectomy as well, but no robot available then. The bits they chopped out were found to be positive for Pca, so I had six weeks of radiotherapy, and two years of hormone treatment. Not pleasant, but way better than the alternative.

My Consultant gave me 2-5 years. That was eleven years ago in August, so I'm on a winner.

Keep positive, and remember, nobody gets out of life alive, so go for it, and enjoy yourself.

Thanks Steve, it was nice chatting to you on the phone the other day. You are doing great since your diagnosis, so it's all positive. I'm staying positive, i have to. Hopefully won't be long before I'm 100% and back to normal driving me truck and not peeing myself lol. Gap tool will be posted Friday morning.

Be prepared. It may take a while to get your bladder control back, but don't get disheartened. You will get there. Do pelvic floor exercises. Every day, several times a day.

You need to keep a strong mental attitude, which you must have. After all, you owned an

So today I had my follow up with my consultant and it's all good news. They took biopsies from around the areas of the prostate after it was removed and also the lymph nodes, they all came back clear which is a very big relief. Blood test in 5 weeks just to make sure I have a PSA level of zero. So I'm a very lucky boy me thinks, lottery been put on tonight so hopefully I'll be 199 million pounds richer by the morning and brand new range rovers all round

So now the only things for me to do is just keep doing the pelvic floor exercises to get my bladder back up to strength. Oh don't worry Steve, I'm keep doing the. I've had many sleepless nights owning a range rover and kept at it

Still doing the pelvic floor exercises, more than I should really, seems to be working rather well so far. Had a phone call from my hospital key worker the other day to check my progress on that front and she's very impressed. The first few weeks I was using around 8-10 pads a day, now I'm down to 3-4, depending how much I cough, laugh and sneeze etc etc. Key worker told me this is amazing as most are still using up to 10 a day 6 months on. I don't leak during the night which she was shocked to hear. I think that's mainly on my part as I've cut right down on my Nespresso coffees from around 4-6 a day to 2. Drink plenty of water during the day so that seems to of helped. Got signed off work for another 2 months, but not much I can do about that as when I need to go the toilet, I have to go there and then. Popped into work to have a coffee with them, did try to do my usual normal truck driving routine, climbing into the truck but that caused me to leak up the 4 steps, couldn't climb on back of truck and tried pulling a ton loaded pallet on a pallet truck but that emptied my bladder lol. Boss said you ain't coming back to work like that, oh well I did try lol. Actually work have been great about it, told me not to rush back, just get myself fit again and maybe get a shift in before Xmas lol.
Next part of recovery, to get my old boy working properly again, that starts next week. I need him back up to optimum working condition again, I do have a younger girlfriend to keep satisfied lol. But all in all, everything is going great so far and I still think myself lucky that it was caught early thanks to my brother and nagging missus.
