Wtd: POS Economical Car

As if selling the RR isn't punishment enough I now need to buy an ecconomical car. Needs to be about £1000-£1500.

Do you have anything lying around?

Practical I'm sure, but this might be a little more fun after some hard haggling!

Run from the megane, just run!!!

You'd be better off with something like a Xantia hdi, mechanically not too complex, same with the electrics and for that pride you could get a very good exclusive and easily a v6 model but the hdi's often get over 50mpg in the real world without trying to hard and ride very nicely as well which will make the move from an ffrr more bearable Smile

Not sure if you had a look at this Dan, but I'd seriously consider it if I were you!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3170960.htm

2001 Seat Leon Cupra, on LPG, so VAG build quality, running costs of a golf on LPG, so 50 mpg plus, and still really good fun to drive!

Solihull isn't even too far from you is it?

Thumbs Up Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Can't go wrong with a Focus.....

http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/2935313.htm

Cheap to run and maintain, reliable, nice to drive and built quite well. My parents had a 1.6 petrol Zetec for a few years and I loved driving it. 2006 Mercedes CLS
1991 Retro-style Mini
But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...
