D350 occasional burning rubber smell

My recently-purchased MY 21.5 D350 occasionally smells of burning rubber after a gentle drive I can't see anything out of place around the exhaust and there's not much to see around the engine even with the cover removed. There are traces of old oil on the heat shield around what I expect to be a turbo on the RH sde of the engine in the vicinity of the exhaust manifold but it doesn't appear that the oil came from anywhere above.

A doubht that a DPF regen would smell of burning rubber.

Any suggestions? L405 D350 SE Carpathian Grey D5 19" rims

Perhaps a sticky calliper? Burning pads give off a smell that is like burning rubber.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll stop and check the wheels next time it happens.

It happened again yesterday while travelling slowly on a particularly rough section on my 2km driveway and the day before at a shopping centre carpark. That the smell got into the cabin was disturbing, as though it must be eminating from the engine bay then finding its way into the cabin air intake as I drive with all windows closed. L405 D350 SE Carpathian Grey D5 19" rims

What is the temperature like at yours just now ? Could it be a fuel burning heater kicking in? V8 or else ...

Thanks for giving the issue some thought. However 25-30 degC daytime temps, the smell occurs after at least 30 mins driving and the FFH shouldn't smell like rubber anyway. L405 D350 SE Carpathian Grey D5 19" rims
