Transfer Case Calibration Crisis! P0806

So I can't leave well enough alone🤦‍♂️. My 2007 Range Rover L322 4.4L has 245k miles on her and just did a fluid change on every possible fluid including the transfer case. I wasn't having any issues but was heading to Moab via a 400 mile off-road route and wanted to make sure I was up on my maintenance. While I had my Gap iiD Tool plugged in, I noticed there was a calibration option for the transfer case so I took to the forums and found a ton of people saying it was a must do and it changed their ride, shifting , etc for the better and couldn't find any naysayers warning about any downsides like you do with transmission services on older vehicles. I wasn't having any issues with my transfer case shuttering on turns or anything but figured with 245k miles, it could probably benefit from a calibration as it had never been done before. I was leaving in the morning for the trip but decided to hold off until we got to Moab just in case and while I was there, decoded just to do it when I got home. (and I'm glad I did!). Yesterday after cleaning her up and parking her in the garage, I decided to perform the procedures. There are 2 items to calibrate in the transfer case, the clutches, and the position sensor. It's a simple process, I put the vehicle in neutral with the vehicle off and selected the Calibrate Clutches option first. The Gap iiD Tool goes through it's paces and you can here it actuation things etc. The procedure was completed successfully so I moved on to the Clutch Position Sensor Calibration. The procedure starts the same way but after some actuating, it asks you to start the vehicle and select 4 High, then 4 Low but right as it did, the transfer case controls started flashing, there was a message on the dash that the range change was unavailable, limited gears were available, and that the auto release of the parking brake was disabled. The entertainment display had the special programs is off screen. The transfer case controls were unresponsive so I disconnected the the Gap tool and started over. I tried clearing the faults to see it it reset anything but there is a hard code - "P0806-00 (2F) Clutch Position Sensor - circuit range/performance".

I haven't tried moving it so I have no clue it it drives and was thinking about trying to recalibrate the clutches again to see if there was any change. Of course I'm kicking myself in the ass as this was completely my doing. Has anyone ever dealt with this? I've scoured the forums and could only find ppl that had that fault prior to the calibration attempt and used the procedure to correct their issue, not an issue brought on by the calibration procedure itself.

From what I can find, the clutch position sensor is part of the transfer case shift motor. I'm thinking the best case scenario is that a new shift motor would correct the issue but my fear is that the clutch packs in the t-case are worn to the point where the clutch position sensor won't calibrate as it's too far gone despite it working fine on the 1,400 mile road trip to Moab and back that day before. Please help.....me to stop doing this **** to myself, lol! Pic for attention

UPDATE: It looks like might be off the hook. I started it today and the transfer case selector was still flashing with a bunch of warnings on the dash. I tried to clear the faults and it wouldn’t. I did notice the Special Programs Off message on the infotainment screen was gone so I tried recalibrating the position sensor again just to see and it worked! I took it for a 40 mile test drive and everything seemed to be good to go and the faults are cleared. That said, it drove great but there was no noticeable difference from prior. What a sigh of relief! I would delete the thread but I'll leave it just in case someone someone does the same thing. Just chill, panic online, and try again tomorrow! There's still hope, lol!
