So finally got around to doing my own oil & filter change and I am so happy at just how easy it is.
I am feeling smug because the whole thing took less than 40 minutes beginning to end and cost me less than £50 all in for oil & filter compared to main stealer wanting upwards of £200 to do the same thing. Even independents want to charge £150+!

Now I am not going to get carried away as a mechanic this does not make me so I am sure my regular garage will get their pound of flesh some other way at some time.

I highly recommend anybody considering doing their own oil & filter changes to go ahead, there are many benefits to doing it yourself;

Considerable financial saving

Reduced worry of oil dilution as you can change the oil whenever you want. (Even less worry if you use the Kot kit to monitor your DPF regens!)
