Engine bay Cleaning - Advice

Having spent some time and effort making the outside and inside of the vehicle shine again the final job - the engine bay - is close Rolling Eyes
It's pretty dirty n dusty under there and despite my best efforts it's just impossible to reach some areas.

Has anyone got any advice on the best way to approach this?

Are there any components that really MUST be covered before the process starts?

I'm thinking of a gentle foam - type cleaner and equally gentle jet wash ..... does that sound reasonable or am I asking for trouble?
Should i use a blower to dry it or would that encourage water to get where it shouldn't be?
A silicone spray once it's cleaned?

Fatty off roader had its under bonnet jet washed everywhere after each outing....

Never had any problems, I used to leave the engine running and blow it off with an airline after it's wash...

The 322 is designed to wade through 50cm depth of water as standard so all the important bits are protected, the 405 wades up to 90cm so is even better....

Just my experience, do it at your own risk... Thumbs Up Pete

I used this stuff on any electrical plugs that looked vulnerable, but never had any issues, not cheap but does work well....
