I wonder if anyone can shed any light on what my transmission is getting up to please? For the most part (ie 95% of the time) it's spot on, smooth changes, no hiccups etc. BUT, if you ask for brisk acceleration from a slow speed (not a standstill, say about walking pace) occasionally it gets all confused and bangs through several gears until it decides where it should be.
Car has 122,000 miles, all fluids were changed at around 80k miles (with gearbox flush) and the gearbox has been flushed again about 6k miles ago. This made no difference to behaviour. It's going to my indi shortly for a service and I'm getting them to look at things like propshaft centre bearing and engine and gearbox mounts, not that I think this is the main issue but they could all be a bit dodgy by now. I'm thinking this has to be an electrical or software issue.
Any thought? Drives:
