cruising along at 65 when car went restricted ...pulled over gapp tool in no faults ..cleared faults anyway lights on dash went out and back on road as if nothing happened ..it continued to occur intermittently andi kept iid tool in and my passenger just kept clearing and it cleared immediatley happened quite a few time on 150 mile journey ,,we had bonnett up but couldnt detct any hissing at all at tickover or high revving....so we came home and it happened only three times but we could hear deffo hissing sucking maybe sound if i hit throttle hard ....any ideas anyone im stumped with no codes ..look again tommorow ill keep you posted car going good but for this no fault ..oh when flooring no black smoke at all and go like hell but then restricted clear fault all good ..would sticking butterfly do this or maybe hose collapse to butterfly... smoke test tommorow ...keep smiling grrr

I would guess a split hose on the intake side or a split inlet manifold...

Smoke test should show it....  Pete

Ok applied my smoke machine to left hand air intake and after a few minutes the split issued forth smoke a new pope is chosen...the split was underneath the jubilee clip under the rubber sleeve ..i undid the jubilee and spun rubber sleeve and there it was ..so ive ordered full set of four plenum rubbers and that should be that...it was the rear left one that split looking for all the world like cracked inlet mani fold ..quite a relief thanks for input

Update fitted new ebay rubbers cost 44pound supplied jubilee type clips not very strong so used original clips much heavier...any way went for test drive and everything back to normal
