Thinking of buying a Range Rover Voge SE 4.4 SD V8

Looking for thoughts / advice.
I am looking at a Range Rover Vogue SE L405 2016. SD V8. The car has had 1 owner from new has a full service history (serviced every 8-10,000 miles) with an independent RR specialist who has great reviews. The car seems to be a good price but I would appreciate any thoughts on what people consider is a good price for this car. Just wondering what the views are on whether to buy this car, has it still got plenty of life left in it or am I better to walk away and buy something newer with lower mileage. The car is being sold by an independent Land Rover specialist and is in great condition. I don't plan to do loads of miles in it but will be taking it on some long (500 mile runs) this is my first Land Rover so would appreciate any advice / thoughts. I have a few good Independent Land Rover specialists near me for servicing Etc. Thanks in advance.

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Fuji White

Use Autorader to give you an upper buying price and We Buy Any Car as your rock bottom price.

Personally if it were in this range I'd be happy. But for the right spec, which you may have to wait around for, it's worth paying a premium in my opinion.

Decide what you want and stick to it, pay the premium if you have to. Otherwise you'll pull up next to your dream spec on the road a week after you bought it and you'll be soooo envious.

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

I bought the exact same spec last June.

Apart from the front ACE pipes leaking and needing to be replaced its been a dream car - always wanted one.

I paid to get the gearbox serviced and a good check over as soon as i got it.

Awesome cars you wont be disappointed.

Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

As Big Dave said above, I too have a 2016 4.4 SDV8 AB and it is the best FFRR I have had (out of 5).

I bought from a forum member with 87,000 miles in Nov 2024. Now on 92,000 and have taken it to the alps and back twice already with no issues. I had a £1500 service/fettle with my indie LR specialist which fixed coolant leak, brakes., pipes etc. It had already had a complete overhaul prior by previous owner.

As Dave said, ACE pipes are crucial to check and change as it is an expensive job. Also look for Oil cooler leaks and rusty fuel tank protector.

How much are they asking? I paid a premium over the market but it was top spec with every optional extra ticked (The updated stereo is mental!)

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Aintree Green

I part ex’d my uttlerly reliable and faultless 65 plate VSE last August for £14,500; the car ended up with a used Land Rover specialist in Surrey who had it up for £26K and I got in touch with them to see if they wanted my folder of invoices from my 6 years of ownership. They certainly did, so I drove over to meet them where I learned that they paid £20K in the auction; this for an Aintree Green/oatmeal leather car with 65K on it and FMDSH, plus replacing items like control arms and suspension bushes as they wore out. Prices on L405s seem to have softened so I’d reckon a dealer retail price on a car of that age/spec to be around £15K. 2024 - 2021MY L405 5.0 SC Portofino Blue

Thanks Guys. Really useful comments. The car is up for £22k which I didn't think was too bad given it's history but looking at the values ou have mentioned maybe it is. I am going to see the car on Monday to check the exact spec and see what work has been carried out on the car. Thanks again.
