Return to the fold

Hello everyone, I have been lurking for quite a while now but have made the decision to take the plunge on a 21 plate ish L405. I have my eyes open, have previously owned a 2008 RRS and old Defender. I have two issues, one straight forwards the second less so:-

I have limited parking space and I may have to raise the car port / garage door. Would someone be kind enough to measure the height when in access mode? I used to be able to get the sport into the garage by lowering it but not sure about the FF.

Secondly, and forgive me I know there is isn't a straight answer but; I seem to be smack in the age where the Lion engine was replaced by the Ingenium. The Lion engine (along with exasperation with the dealer near me) resulted in me going back to BMW (I know, but it is what it is). I would be happy with the Ford v8 petrol but I will only buy through the dealer network and there aren't any in my price range. The 2ltr petrol plug in would suit me fine, presumably doesn't have problems with short journeys but I think I'm right in saying reliability hasn't been great in other models. the 3ltr petrol ingenium looks out of my price range. That leaves the 3ltr diesel which I know I will need to change the oil regularly and ensure that it gets a decent run frequently. I may be overthinking it, is there one that you would definitely go for or avoid like the plague?

Any views gratefully received or, if you are sick of this topic just ignore me.

I'm not sure exactly as later cars had a taller shark fin antenna, so I'm not sure what the high point is, however, the thread below suggests 50mm lower than standard height
