Telematics Control Unit/ Module | |
My MY19 Range Rover Autobiography won’t connect to WiFi or read a SIM card.
Looking at the forums, this is a reasonably common fault with most of peoples issues being to have the TCU replaced by Land Rover under warranty.
Reading the forums, I think the software in the TCU becomes corrupted and so in the early days the TCU is replaced, but in more recent forums several people have indicated that LR now has a software update to fix the problem. Does anyone know if this is the case as having a TCU replaced by Land Rover would be prohibitively costly for relatively little benefit?
I have bought a second hand TCU which I fitted to the car this morning. Having done so, the car was able to connect to WiFi without a problem. I then checked for software updates (unfortunately there were none), but with the second hand TCU the car did not recognise the smart key and therefore could not be started. I have a scanner that has Telematics capability but unfortunately won’t update the second hand TCU to work with my car. Therefore I have reinstalled the original TCU and the car will start again but unfortunately the WiFi fault is back.
So the conclusion I have got to is that there is a problem with my TCU and I am hoping that Land Rover now has a software fix for the TCU which will enable the cars WiFi to work.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Current > FFRR 2018 3.0 SDV6
