A friend of someone I work with liked my l322 so got one too.
But, they bought it without seeing it for real (same as me) but there are things wrong ie eml on and a few other things he wasn't told about.

He paid for via bank transfer and a got a courier to deliver it and told him (courier) about, he said he can report the seller for fraud ie not as described. I don't think so as it was a private sale.
Might be different if through a dealer but not private.

TBH, it sounds like they were a little lazy and are now paying the price......

Kind of ie lie, think when he showed me the advert there was no mention of the eml or abs light and something else i can't remember. But but did say "sold as seen" but he didn't see it only the course did and doesn't remember fully what he said.
But as I said, it's a private sale bought without personally seeing plus "sold as seen" so that is it.

AFAIK, if you don't ask the seller whether there are any faults they are aware of, they are not obliged to proactively inform you.

Unless it had a fresh MOT, I doubt there's anyone to complain to.

It did have a fresh one but think it is hooky.

EML or ABS would be an automatic fail.

Abs yes not eml as I have had that pass but an advisory in the past. He also doesn't know if it was on when it was tested anyway.
There are other things though that I said to him wouldn't pass. But, he has it and using it.

Fair point, EML is a major unless it's old enough...... "diesels that were registered before 1 July 2008 and petrols that were registered before 1 July 2003 are exempt from the EML part of the MOT"
