When I rebuilt my 1972 Range Rover with all new brake pipes, master cylinder and calipers I used an 'easibleed' with no probs.
I have just replaced all the brake pipes with 2012 Westminster and am having a problem getting a firm brake pedal. Do I need to activate the abs module using the 'IIbluetooth' thingey in case there is air trapped inside?
Anyone else had this problem? Suggestions welcome.

Yes is the answer to that one. Not done it myself but did a bit of research when garage replaced brake pipes and pedal felt strange. Took it back and they had another go at bleeding. All good after that…..

Hi,

I had problems when I replaced the front calipers, it was always spongy, but I think it was because the original fluid in there was just plain DOT4. I won't name the people who did it the last time but well known national chain of exhaust & Tyre providers. Yeee Haa boys.

Once I flushed that out completely with DOT4 ESL fluid, which looked a lighter colour as well, pedal was as good as new again.

So make sure you're using the low viscocity stuff and flush it well through as it definately makes a difference.

Yes, no matter which fullfat you have, bleeding can be a right PITA if you are uninitiated, especially after doing major surgery. I had a right battle on with mine, even using a pressure bleeder, used loads of fluid, because I didn’t run the engine or have the iiD Tool to run the ABS pump, and made a rookie mistake of having no air escape hole in the collection bottle top, (in my paranoia not to spill brake fluid all over my newly-cleaned driveway!)

I've tried bleeding using the IID tool and didn't have much success with it.

I've got one of the units that you fill with fluid and pressurise it. Using that and going round the calipers in the correct sequence 3 times always seems to get the desired results for me. I also leave the bleed nipple open for a good bit longer then you'd think necessary too as the fluid will run clear for a bit and then a few more bubbles will appear.

I've done my car twice and a friends car without the IID tool and have got the pedal great.
