wire identification?

Had to replace my o/s/r light, no problem but behind the light i found 2 black quite thick wires coming out of the chassis member with the loom for the lights not attached to them and were just cut off hanging there would anyone know what there for ? 2007 l322 SC Thanks in advance

Aren’t black wires connected to earth (chassis)? Ron B. VK2OTC

I just had a look at my copy of RAVE. I was wrong. Earth wires are NB (Brown with a black stripe) or Brown (N).

B wire use looks variable, sometimes for earth, other times for a feed. Ron B. VK2OTC
