To keep this brief, I was getting restricted performance when my right foot requested the secondary turbo to kick in.
4 rubber plennum hoses all hood and replaced MAF and MAP sensors with new genuine items. Secondary turbo actuator was replaced with a genuine part circa 8k miles ago.
On the morning I took it to a specialist I planted my right foot multiple times but the restricted performance warning did not initiate. The specialist tested the car and concluded the secondary turbo needed replacement and my slight oil smell which is intermittent was due to a failing turbo oil seal.
I get no smoke, no noises, no oil usage and having oiled the cross over valve (I have the later valve) I can not get the restricted warning to initiate. My waranty company seem prepared to cover the turbo providing another garage diagnoses the same issue.
As the issue is no longer present this poses a challenge and I am left believing the initial diagnosis of a failed turbo was incorrect.
Is it possible my turbo has still failed despite performance being as expected, no smoke,e, oil usage or noise?
My fear is continuing to use and the waranty company down the line saying I ignored the turbo failure diagnosis.
My waranty has a £10k claim limit and I count myself very lucky to have such a waranty on my baby... 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather
