5.0 SC cooling fan running when switched off & locked

Bit of an odd one, my 5.0 SC has started to randomly run one of the cooling fans even though the car is locked and hasn’t been started since the day before, therefore is stone cold.

It’s not the viscous fan and peering through the front grille, it doesn’t appear to be the electric fan at the front either.

If left, it does eventually stop.

If I unlock and open the drivers door, it also stops (opening any other door and it keeps running). After re-locking, it can go for hours without starting up again but then all of sudden, it starts running.

Looking at the parts diagram, there only appears to be the viscous and electric fan on the 5.0 engine but there’s definitely another fan running from within the radiator pack - it’s loud and I can feel the air moving through.

Any ideas anyone?? Jonathan
