4.4 TDV8 Low Pressure Fuel Pump

Hi guys,

I've got a 4.4 TDV8 and the fuel gauge has started reading inaccurately.
My mind went straight to the common issue with the connectors inside the fuel tank but I had a look today and found that the pump has broken and can move around.

My question is, has anyone got a picture of where exactly, and which orientation, the fuel pump should be? My guess is in a similar fashion to the sender and pickup on the NS of the tank. I can't find a single photo or video showing a TDV8 pump in the tank, and the workshop manual I have seems to have everything but the pump in it.

I'll either be replacing the pump or repairing the original with a 3D printer and some new metal rods

Thanks!

Have a look at my posts on page 3 of this link

The rods fall inside the pump body which can be opened with a bit or careful persuasion. You can make this repair with rivet nuts if you have them. If you use this method then make sure you put on the rivet nut AFTER putting the pillars back in their respective places through the pump top and do not use too much force in setting the nuts otherwise they will not fit into the bridge. The original fit of pillars to bridge are push interference fit.

The fuel tank has indent top and bottom which site the pump, the bridge is at the top.

Hope this helps

My repair has lasted since September 2020. Cheers
Richard
