D350 Oil Change

The 50 is just coming up to 7k miles since dealer service at 39k so it's time for an oil and filter change (who on earth thought 21k was a sensible interval for a diesel engine Shocked ).

I have the oil pump I used on the SDV8 but the 6cyl Ingenium has a traditional dipstick so I'm assuming I will need a long length of suitably sized tubing to push down the tube into the sump.

Anybody know what size tubing is needed?

Is the filter change as easy as the SDV8?

Also, any recommendations for oil? Is it the same as the SDV8 as I see Opie have an offer on at the moment.

I did my first D350 oil change recently. Whilst I saw a video showing poking a tube down the dipstick tube, I could only get about 4.5L out. Initially all I got was air but pulling the tube back a little found oil, so I assumed that the dipstick tube doesn't go right to the bottom allowing my tube to curl around. Fortunately I had pumped into a clean container so put that back in to raise the vehicle to have room to remove the bash plate then the sump plug. I can get mine to super-extended height so had plenty of room underneath.
The filter is very conveniently located at the top of the front of the engine.

I subsequently purchased a packet of sump plug washers rather than use standard o-rings, which I'm sure can be purchased locally.
