[For Sale] Varta "Silver Dynamic AGM" 019

Chaps,

I have available a barely used Varta "Silver Dynamic AGM" 019 now surplus to requirements.

Supplied by Tayna Batteries and fitted to my FF in March of this year, I subsequently replaced it several weeks later and only a handful of miles as it appeared to be faulty.  The issue turned out in the end to be BMS related and nothing to do with the battery.

Yes, yes, I know....

The car was consequently not in use during the period prior to (the second) replacement. My Ctek MSX 5 remained connected via the towing hitch throughout.

The business of fitting this battery did me no good at all - anyone who has ever fitted one will understand. This along with the (at the time undiagnosed) BMS issue, was a factor also in the delay to its replacement. And with that I'd been putting off disposing of it - responsibly of course. But on connecting my battery tester over the Bank Holiday weekend, I find that it's in really good shape. Far from environmentally sound disposal, a new home beneath an LR bonnet would seem the appropriate way forward.

Metrics SOH and SOC are "State of Health" and "State of Charge"respectively. RES is internal resistance.

Fast forward 3 or 4 days spent connected to my MXS 5, followed by a couple of days disconnected to disperse possible surface charge and it's showing around 13v and well within tolerance internal resistance. Other metrics are similarly respectable.

The screenshot above shows voltage drop on August 24th when the charger decides it's time to reduce the charging rate. The second on the 27th reflects my disconnecting the charger.

So now I'm offering this at £105.00 - around half price.  Courier delivery may be possible, but honestly in view of its sheer mass and potential fragility, I'd rather not. Collection much preferred.

Will be happy to demonstrate test procedure and outcome on collection.  For comparison, I can also demonstrate the test procedure using the battery replaced back in March and with which the car was supplied some years ago.

You are welcome to bring your own test kit.

And one or two bikes - Ok, maybe more than one or two....
