TDV8 Refresher Course

Hi All,

It's been some years since my last L322 3.6 TDV8. I had the 4.4SDV8 in L405 a couple of times after but I need some bullet points.

If looking at an L322 3.6 or 4.4 TDV8 now, what are the main things to be aware of maintenance-wise?

For example, in the Discovery 4, it's essential that the belts are done at a particular mileage and age, regular servicing, correct oil etc. The SDV6 has it's own issues of course.

So, with the TDV8, is it turbos? Is it inlet manifolds? Do the need belts or tensioners doing etc?

I'm thinking yet again of getting an L322 as a 2nd car and need to brush up (my memory has faded) Discovery 4 HSE

The L322 TDV8 inlet manifold was a known weakness to cracking minutely (mine cost £1600 to replace pax side only).
It was surpassed by an improved part which could take the bi-turbo boost.
