NSF Dropping

Hi chaps, are there any other areas to the air suspension that I may have overlooked…

Recently had the front dropping on both sides, the valve block was sticking so replaced with new - found out I had a hole in the OSF bag so replaced both front struts with new. It’s been fine for about 6 weeks now. Noticed yesterday that the passenger front is sitting lower after being parked up overnight. Same when I come out of work after an 8 hour shift. Dropped. There is no air leak on the brand new strut, or line, or valve block.

Anything else to try next if anyone had similar? Unless the new valve block has somehow failed within 6 weeks which I really hope not!

Thanks

Charlie

No nothing.

I did get last week “only normal height available” for one drive home and then been fine ever since

Front left is the generally first one to go as it hits bumpier road.
It also happens most in October as the weather gets cooler and the rubber splits . Strange but true.

Sometimes where the air suspension folds over on itself it can "seal/cover up" a hole and make the problem intermittent - I fully undertand you have put new macpherson struts on but your symptoms are similar to this. Is it possible one of your new parts has a pinhold leak that is sealing itself?

I agree it definitely seems like that.

I did jack it right up into extended off road and spray around the bag with leak detector foam and no air bubbles. Will have to soak it in fairy liquid and leave it overnight.

Thanks!

Did you do a suspension calibration after changing the struts. Not technicaly neccessary but if these is an incorrect value on a height sensor it will try to level the car out when left standig for a while and it's leveling it according to the height sensors so can end up off level. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hey, yeah I did - it even come up “not required after strut changes” but did it anyway to be sure it’s spot on.

I disconnected the battery last night to eliminate the self level feature and it’s still dropped so it must be an extremely small leak on the strut or airline itself on the passenger side 🫠

Soapy liquid the top of the strut for a leak as well. Obviously you have a leak, just need to find it.
