Fuel additive recommendations

Just thought I'd buy a few bottles to run through the system and wondering if anybody has any recommendations? The car was doing short trips on a regular basis with the previous owner and so yeah, anything that can be recommended to blow the old cobwebs off?

Forte Diesel injector cleaner is what my Inde uses:

..but Lidl/Aldi sometimes have a good deal on the Redex cleaner too. I've used both. L405 2014 SDV8 4.4 Autobiography

If it’s done short trips the best thing to do is to change the engine oil as this is where the problem will be from excessive soot load and fuel contamination. Off the shelf fuel additives are IME BS given the tiny concentrations used. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks for the recommendations. Yeah, I took it to an Indy when I picked it up and asked them to do an oil change. This was more of an additional measure just to keep things right

I add 25ml Millers fuel treatment to every tank and have done so on all cars for years. I have never had a injector or fuel related problem but may just be lucky.

I also use dipetane periodically. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue Santorini black ivory leather

BG 244
Not the cheapest, or easiest to find, but BG products are the only additives JLR have ever advised use of, albeit, in the petrol engines Thumbs Up

I use Archoil in my motor.
Its not expensive from amazon etc.etc.

archoil 6400 once per year xmas
archoil 6900 every tank full of diesel.

I am by no means an expert in these products, however maybe 10-12 years ago some recommended, and I have use ever since.
I do not see any extra milage or better performance to be honest, as I use it all the time.
However what I will say, had my last D3 2.7 with bas chip, for almost 15 years with 300k on her when sold. Its still running as I type.
Same engine same turbo, same gear box. so does not harm is my thought.
Had this L494 4.4 sdv8 sport now for almost 4 years. Treating it to the same archoil. Around 80k now no problems.
Just my two penneth Thumbs Up

I use a can of this https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/gb/super-die...tion-title in every tank. No longer use V Power or other premium diesel, just standard with the additive. Seems to run very smooth and I am hoping it has the preventative effects of stopping any injection component failure etc in the future.

The best that can be said about fuel addatives is at the concentrations that they are used at least they can't do any harm. The fuel systems in these cars are not known to have any particular weakneses and using quality fuels and changing the fuel filter at the service intervals should generaly mean the fuel system will outlast the rest of the car. Save your money and put it towards an extra oil change per year if you want to give your engine a proven life extender. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
