Possible immobilizer issues. | |
I'm at a bit of a loss in trying to remedy a current issue on my 2011 l322.
I travel for work and can be away from my home country months at a time. I generally have someone run and drive the vehicle occasionally while I'm away to prevent issues however the vehicle was parked and left sitting for a few months after a minor electrical issue. The battery discharged completely therefore the key fob no longer unlocked the vehicle. After gaining access manually, and connecting a jumper pack to the battery the vehicle would only respond with a "Smart key not detected" error on the dash. I called a local mechanic to replace battery and perform a diagnostic scan however once connecting the new battery the vehicle alarm would activate with no way of silencing, as once again "smart key not detected" because the vehicle does not recognize the key it will not active the ignition to perform a scan nor can I access the fuses in the glovebox as it will not open without power. I Have also replaced battery in key fob with no avail.
Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated.
Ryan.
