Facelift Headlights

Hi All,
My car failed its MOT because of "Headlamp levelling device inoperative"

I didn't think my late 2009 facelift has levelers in the lights, but the MOT tester is adamant there is and that the lights should jump up and down when switched on! My car has never done this!

My understanding that the levelling of the headlights was done through the suspension, is that right?

If I am correct, how do I prove this to the MOT tester?

Any advise would be much appreciated

As far as I'm aware you're right, no need for auto level headlights when the whole car is continually auto levelled. I mean even changing heights it'll do it in a way that the backend is higher than the front during transition to avoid dazzling other drivers, ie it'll drop the front first and raise the back first.

Think you need a better MOT guy if he can't be reeducated. I suggest an electric fly swat as an assist 😉
