2012 Rear lights - fitting ballast resistors

Both my rear lights were cracked and letting in moisture when I got the car, so I replaced them both with a set of aftermarket units which are indistinguishable from the originals.

They work fine, on indicator and stop functions, so no issues there.

The only minor quibble I have is that they’re throwing error codes which won’t clear. I assume it’s because the LEDs don’t draw enough current so the car thinks they aren’t working and pops up the error codes.

From what I’ve read up on, I need a 15ohm 25w resistor on the indicator and stop circuits, so ordered a set of 4 from eBay.

Whilst I await their arrival, I’d be grateful if anyone who has done this could point me in the direction of how to wire them in. I assume I’m not the only one who’s done this mod.

The lights are 2012 model specific on a 2012 car, so no issues with fitting to an earlier car etc.

Thanks in advance !

I think so - but might have different current draw.

Not an electrical guru I’m afraid.
