United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Orkney Grey
No Entertainment System

hi everyone,

i had the battery disconnected this afternoon so i didn't pop anything when i was doing my towing electrics.

i connected the negative terminal again, everything seemed to work, started the car and did the steering wheel etc, but no radio, sat nav etc. the screen is blank and i can't get anything from it.

is there something i need to do to bring it back to life? i have never had the battery disconnected before so have'nt encountered this problem before. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

might be a fuse?, or look in the rear nearside compartment and have a look out for a silver box with a blue and white white connectors in to it, the pins inside the connectors might be corroded i hope this is of any use.

@ Scarey.. what makes you lean towards a battery issue... curious??

evrything else was fine as soon as i reconnected the negative lead, just the head unit not wanting to fire up.

i was maybe thinking about a new battery later in the year especially if it gets cold again like the last couple of winters. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE

just a thought that a 'worn' battery might not have had the power to get every thing going when you re-connected it but after having it connected for a while it did.. ... - .- -.

I would imagine the ecu stayed asleep when you reconnected your battery... In locking your car and leaving for a couple of mins then opening and putting the ignition on, normal service was resumed!

If it starts happening on a regular basis i would first change the battery if its not been changed for a while...

Craig Thumbs Up
