Forget the cheap ones. Buy a genuine one used off eBay for about £10-£15. I bought 2 and they both work perfectly, so one is on the shelf, the other chucking out hot/cold air as I want it.

Worst case scenario is you buy a dud, but then you can just send it back and get your money back.

I had 2 cheap ones which both lasted about 5 mins.

Good shout. I wish I'd tried that first.

Update... I've replaced the cheap dud FSR with a £55 Mahle version and now, halle-fudging-lujah, not only is my HEVAC working but I no longer have a whopping current drain flattening the battery overnight. Happy days.

So yes, as others have said, don't bother with the cheap FSRs.

Incidentally, the new Mahle one says 'made in China' (hmm...) whereas the original Valeo was made in Germany. The cheap one is unbranded and doesn't say where it was made.

Should be fine with a Mahle. I’m now quite adept at swapping them out, so even if mine only last me 12 months, that’s 8-10 yrs of used FSRs before I’m anywhere near the cost of a new genuine one.
