There's an RJ45 cable that connects the base unit that's in the boot to the display unit, which I screwed into the centre console which is probably the hardest bit to route through,

The unit can either provide output via an Aux out, but I used the FM option and use a preset on the head unit.

I used a small T-piece to take a feed from the radio antenna and the reception is good enough for most areas!

It goes through the RR sound system Stan. It has no audio capability other than to output via the line out or a chosen FM frequency. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Well, like you, I hate things that look non-integrated, and this was as close as I could get.

If you decide to go down this route, I'm happy to help out with any more detailed info. Getting hold of the T-piece and antenna cable was a bit of a job, but since I had done this before on my last BMW, I had an idea of who sold them. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

i've been yearning for dab and i wanted to get a proper landrover dab unit ,but these are like rocking horse stuff ..without the antenna this seems quite reasonably priced. ... - .- -.

Indeed, it's probably the most cost effective way to do it.

Apart from which I'm assured that >MY07 it's not an easy task even if you have the DAB module as the touch screen doesn't ever show the DAB as a source even after it's fitted and coded.

When I had my E60 BMW is retro-fitted an OEM DAB unit despite being told by BMW that it wasn't possible, but Autologic spotted it and all was well. In that case I used a feed from the TV antenna which is in the rear window.
